WHAT IS 'POSITIVE YAW DAMPING'? I've seen in mentioned but I don't know what it is!

A characteristic unique to servopendulum steering systems is the built-in capability to correct a boat's yawing, or being forced off-course by a wave or freak wind. When the boat's stern is moved to one side the servopaddle is pushed in the opposite direction, just as it would if the paddle was turned by the airvane. The boat's rudder is turned and the yaw is counter-acted, preventing a broach. A Monitor windvane acts like an experienced helmsman, compensating for the boat's motion automatically.
